Obituary of Nadine Nora Spires

CAYCE: Funeral service for Nadine Ella Nora Spires, 65, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Reverend Joyce Manzi. Interment will follow in Woodridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening in the funeral home. Nadine "Nora" Spires left her earthly body to be with her lord and savior on Monday, December 10th, 2012. Born in Bamberg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Proveaux and Nadine Chavis Proveaux. She was owner/operator of her own beauty salon. Surviving is her loving husband of 27 years, Harold C. Spires of Cayce; children, Alan Kirk Byars (Cathryn) of Red Bank, Alison Kay Byars Harmon (Harry) of Lexington, and Anthony Karl Byars of York; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alan, Jr., Sara, John, Kayleigh, Raymond, Thomas and Susie; sister, Missy Peloso (George) of Gaston; and a large and loving extended family. She was a godly and loving wife and mother. Her Native American name was "Giving Spirit". Nora never met a stranger, she was a most trusted friend and confidant to her children as well as her children's friends. Nora donated to many charities throughout the years. She was a true servant of the lord. She was a member of Lion of Judah worship center. Nora loved to cook; there was always a place at her table for one more. She made the best chicken **** and gravy. She will be lovingly remembered as having a heart of gold.
