Obituary of Catherine Elizabeth Banty

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Catherine Carrie Elizabeth Banty, 25, will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by Pastor Dr. Nic Natale. Interment will follow in Westside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Ms. Banty passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of Thomas Banty and Tonya Robin Burdell Banty. Carrie graduated from Brookland Cayce High School in 2005. She had a career in retail customer service. On her days off she dedicated time to her daughter and family. Carrie was a courageous, independent woman, with a big heart. She was able to find the humor in any situation. She had an extreme love of music and was always doing her best to protect and love her family. Her warm smile and contagious laughter will be sorely missed. Surviving is her father, Thomas Banty and step-mother, Judy Banty; mother, Tonya Robin Burdell Banty; daughter, Cassidy Banty; sister, Samantha Gutknecht (Brian) of West Columbia; nephew, Brian Lee Gutknecht, III; four aunts; grandmother, Katie Lovell of West Columbia
