Obituary of William Hatchell

William Townsend Hatchell COLUMBIA: Funeral service for William Townsend Hatchell, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, in the Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Hatchell began his life with our heavenly father on December 14, 2012. He was married to the late Nellie Hatchell. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Rev. James R. and Margaret Wadford Hatchell. He worked as a machinist over 27 years for Columbia Products; (Shakespeare) Co. He was a loving, caring, admiring man, with a smile as big as his heart. He was a former Mason and Shriner. He was a faithful member of Salvation Army and later the Faith Baptist Church. Surviving are his daughters who loved and will truly miss him dearly, Sandra Couillard, Rita Hammond (Bobby) and Wendy Abbott (Randy) all from Columbia; grandchildren, Brian, Wesley and Amanda Hammond, Ervin Abbott, Richard Couillard; great grandchildren, Chloe White, Noah Hammond, Damion and Garen Couillard; sisters, Janice Rabon and Becky Moreland; his companion over the last year, Faye Pie; also a number of nieces and nephews.
