Obituary of Harold Hurt

A funeral service celebrating the life of Harold "Danny" Hurt, 55, of Columbia will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Salem Baptist Church, 2226 Denny Hwy, Saluda, SC 29138 with viewing to begin at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Jarrod Marshall will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in Danny's memory. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. "Danny" as he was affectionately called by his family and friends departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 16, 2012. He was born in Newberry, SC to Harold Watkins Hurt and Carolyn Nicholson Hurt. Danny was employed with Computer Sciences Corporation and he was also an avid Gamecock fan. Danny was predeceased by his father, Harold Watkins Hurt. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 16 years, Kathi Malone Hurt; his mother, Carolyn Hurt; his sisters, Beverly Hurt Riley (Buck) and Jan Hurt Chapman (Garry); mother-in-law, Carolyn Sue Malone; brother-in-laws, Matt, Bret, and Mark Malone; nieces, Mackenzie Riley, Mya Chapman, Sarah & Tephanie Malone, and Stephanie McConnell; nephews, Austin & Grey Riley, Daniel & Jonathon Chapman, and Paul, Joe, Tyler & Logan Malone; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
