Obituary of Ruth Acuff

Funeral services for Ruth Brown Acuff, 70, will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel; Pastor Brandon Sandifer will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11am at the funeral home. Mrs. Acuff passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Born in York, SC, on April 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. Brown and Lynn Latham Brown. Mrs. Acuff retired as a nurse from The Presbyterian Community of Lexington. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister to all who knew her. She enjoyed the challenge of word and number puzzles, and was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, Robert E. Acuff; son, Rob Acuff (Cindy) of Columbia, SC; daughter, Terri Derendinger (Allen) of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Spencer Derendinger, Sarah and Allie Acuff; sisters, Pat Ramsey of York, SC and Susan Dominick (Furman) of Manning, SC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
