Obituary of Avera Anderson

SWANSEA—Funeral services for Avera Edward Anderson, 68, of Swansea will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Bennie Perry. Burial will be held at 4 p.m. in Blount's Crossing Cemetery, Thalmann, GA. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Anderson, beloved husband of Bonnie Anderson, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012. Born in Brunswick, GA, he was the son of the late Daniel Anderson and Nora Strickland Anderson. He retired from Alex Nursery and Landscaping. He was a loving husband, father, "PaPa" and friend. He will be dearly missed and was loved by many. Surviving in addition to his wife, Bonnie Anderson of Swansea; daughter, Karen Elizabeth Anderson of West Columbia; sons, Mark Avera Anderson of Swansea and Paul Edward Anderson of Columbia; grandchildren, Kimberly Anderson, Bradley Anderson, Andrew Stacy and Elijah Anderson; sister, Mamie Lou Strickland of White Oak, GA; brothers, Dan Anderson, Jr. of Thalmann, GA and Jimmy Anderson of Waynesville, GA.
