Obituary of Betty Bramlett Cook

A funeral service celebrating the life of Betty Jane Bramlett Cook, 75, of Pelion will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Carolina Children?s Home in Betty?s memory. Wayne Watkins, Allen Baughman, Glen Rice, Bryan Yarborough, Robert Harris, and Boyd Filyaw will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Cook departed this earthly life on Friday, December 21, 2012. She was born in Spartanburg County, SC to the late Ansel and Pauline Rice Bramlett. Mrs. Cook was a strong Christian woman with much love for her family and friends. She retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections after many years of dedicated service. Mrs. Cook was predeceased by her husband, Gerald E. Cook and her sister, Doris Smith. Those left to cherish her beautiful memories are two daughters, Jerri (John ?Eddie?)Hunt and Cynthia C. (Robert ?Bobby?) Harris; two sons, Randy Cook and James Boyd Filyaw; two sisters, Martha Thompson and Margaret Taylor; three brothers, Tom, Walter, and Charles Bramlett; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
