Obituary of Ronald Walker

A funeral service celebrating the life of Ronald Andreason Walker, Sr., 72, of Lexington will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Full military honors and internment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Mr. Walker departed this earthly life on Friday, December 21, 2012. He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Ralph and Louise Walker. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Mrs. Margo Perry Walker; three daughters, Vera (Scott) Stewart, Rhonda Lee (Jonathan) Moses, and Susan Morningstar; a son, Ronald Walker, Jr.; his sisters, Carolyn McAdoo, Cleo Saffoe, and Joanne Crump; a brother, Ralph (Jamie Hewitt-Walker) Walker; six grandchildren; extended family, Christopher Ladson and Cheryl Henry; and a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly. Mr. Walker served in the United States Army in transportation maintenance, retiring with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (CW2) after 21 years of dedicated service, including tours in Korea and in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Army, Mr. Walker continued his career in automotive services, working for several Columbia area dealerships. He was last a member of the Brown Motor Works family.
