Obituary of Bobbie Burton

Bobbie Jacquelyn "Jackie" Sawyer Burton, 83, of Columbia, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012, at Lexington Medical Center. Born November 18, 1929, in South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John and Myrtie Sawyer. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Vincent Spaulding. She is survived by her husband Thomas C. Burton, of Columbia; son, J. Rick Brown (Karen), of Lansing, MI; six step-children; three grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012, at 2:00 P.M., in Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209, with Reverend Tripp Atkinson, officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
