Obituary of Marie Bachman

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Mrs. Marie Bachman, 91, of West Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiating will be Rev. Dr. B. Clayton Shumpert and Rev. Bob Shewell. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Senior Saints Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 416 Denham Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Bachman was born on April 1, 1921 in Columbia, SC. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in West Columbia. She had declining health over the last five years prior to her passing on January 1, 2013. She was predeceased by her first husband Fletcher Sharpe and her last husband Lonnie Bachman. She was also predeceased by her father and mother, John and Laura Deese; also, predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Marie Bachman enjoyed her strong faith in Jesus Christ and lived the life of a true Christian. She now resides in Heaven and all pain and sorrow is gone forever. Many thanks to everyone who prayed for her and served her during the days of her illness. She was survived by nieces, Laura Fraley and Betty Newcomb; brother-in-law, Robert White.
