Obituary of Evelyn Wimberly

Evelyn G. Wimberly, age 69, of Columbia, SC received her angel wings on January 1, 2013. Born September 25, 1943 in Norway, SC, she is predeceased by her parents, Hammond L. Gleaton and Loleta Hughes Gleaton; her late husband of 37 years, Jerry W. Wimberly and a sister, Shirley G. Ansell (YaYa). Evelyn is survived by her son, Steve Wimberly; son, Keith Wimberly, his wife, Lisa; two treasured granddaughters, Rachel and Rebecca Wimberly; daughter-at-heart, Laura Mitchell, husband Chris, and two boys, Evan and Jacob; six esteemed siblings; two generations of nieces and nephews; and a host of cherished family and friends. Evelyn?s service and passion thru life was that of a devoted, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, wife, mother, Grammie and friend! A ?Celebration? of her life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Visitation with family and friends will be at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg, Rd, Columbia, SC. A graveside service to be held at 3:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
