Obituary of Julia Fulmer

LEXINGTON—Funeral services for Julia Gwendolyn Rhodes Fulmer, 88, of Lexington, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Lexington Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Clay Werner. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made in her honor to Lexington Presbyterian Church, 246 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Mrs. Fulmer, widow of the late Henry Paul Fulmer, Sr., passed away on January 13, 2013. Born in Oxford, AL, she was the daughter of the late Henry Grady Rhodes and Willie Elsie Hewett Rhodes. She was a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church on Barr Road where she was the original teacher of the women's Sunday School class called Cross Anchor Class. She was the Founder and Church Librarian at Trinity Presbyterian in Jackson, MS. She loved books and instilled her passion of reading in others. Surviving are her daughters, Linda Ingebretsen of Lexington and Ann McCain (Michael) of Kingston, TN; son, Bill Fulmer (Deanna) of Batesburg Leesville; grandchildren, Veronica Fulmer, Josh Pearman, Paul Pearman, Doug Ingebretsen, Eric Ingebretsen, Karin Burdette, Alissa McCain, Sarah Drumheller, Bo Fulmer and Leigh Fulmer; six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Pennie Duggins of Whispering Pines, NC. She was preceded in death by son, Henry Paul Fulmer, Jr., sisters, Dr. Louise R. Clark and Nadine Curry; her parents and husband.
