Obituary of Edith Windham

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Edith Briefs Windham, 84, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1201 Mohawk Dr., West Columbia, SC 29169. Officiating the service will be Reverend Phil Lavender. Entombment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2 until 3 p.m. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SC State Library, Talking Books Services, P.O. Box 11469, Columbia, SC 29211 or to Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Windham, widow of Asa Windham, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was a daughter of the late Carl Briefs and Edith Forbes Briefs. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Windham retired from the SC Pharmaceutical Association where she served as one time Interim Director. She was a charter member of the Ladies Canasta Club. Survivors are: her daughter, Barbara A. Windham (Willis Soule) of Springdale; sons, John C. Windham (Beverly) of Lexington and Bruce Asa Windham (Mahaley) of Easley; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
