Obituary of Steven Weekley

COLUMBIA: A memorial service celebrating the life of Steven Edward Weekley, 65, of Columbia will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with his brother, Reverend Richard Weekley, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service on Friday at Greenlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Celebrate Freedom Foundation, 1300 Pickens Street, Suite 200, Columbia, SC 29201 in Steve?s memory. On-line condolences may be sent to www.greenlawn-columbia.com. Steve departed this earthly life on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to James Edward Weekley and Grace Mae Cook Weekley. Steve was a dedicated employee of Frasier Tire. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy and an officer in the South Carolina State Guard. Steve was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Karen Weekley Porter. Those left to cherish his wonderful memories are his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Janice Haire Weekley; a daughter, Jennifer (Trent) Finklea; a son, Michael (Erica) Weekley; three granddaughters, Logan, Kaitlin, and Kenzie Finklea; four brothers, Michael James Weekley, Richard Allen Weekley, Donald Lynn Weekley, and Kevin Ray Weekley; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly. Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Leland McElveen, South Carolina Oncology Associates, and Tri-County Hospice for their support and care during Steve?s illness.
