Obituary of Dorothy Haggard

WEST COLUMBIA: Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy Davis Haggard, 72, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Haggard, widow of James M. Haggard, Sr., died Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Born on March 19, 1940, in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Mrs. Frances Davis. Mrs. Haggard is survived by her daughters, Jan Harper of West Columbia and Annette Fountain of Columbia; sons, Jim Haggard (Terrah) of Columbia and Ricky Haggard (Andria) of West Columbia; step-daughter, Barbara Blount of Walker, LA; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Bette Sturkie (Jack)of Columbia; and brother, John "Dave" Davis (Jean) of Sumter. In addition to her beloved husband of 50 years, she was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Cathy Baird of Saluda and her brother Jimmy Davis of West Columbia. The family wishes to thank the staff of Heartland for their dedicated care of our mother.
