Obituary of Hattie Haulbrook

LEXINGTON—Funeral service for Hattie R. Haulbrook, 76, of Lexington, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Officiating will be Bishop Byron Powers and Chaplain John Lopez. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mrs. Haulbrook, beloved wife of Roy W. Haulbrook, passed away on January 29, 2013. Born in Rock Hill, she was the daughter of the late Edgar J. Powell and Mary Ruth Thaxton Powell. She was a member of Elmwood Avenue Church of God. She retired from Lexington/Richland School District 5- Leaphart Elementary School. She was an avid golfer. Hattie was a wonderful loving wife and mother. Surviving in addition to her husband of 53 years, Roy W. Haulbrook of Lexington; sons, Robert W. Haulbrook of Charlotte, NC and William R. Haulbrook of Boston, Massachusetts; sisters, Lucille Shaver of Ware Shoals, SC, Martha Lee West of Florida, Lillie Rogers (twin) of Royston, GA; brother, Jimmy Powell of Wave Shoals. She was preceded in death by her sister, Faye and her brother, Malcolm.
