Obituary of Emily Carol Rogers Skvasik

PROSPERITY:Services for Emily Carol Rogers Skvasik will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Mrs. Skvasik, wife of Joseph Skvasik, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 29, 2013, after a courageous battle against cancer. Lovingly known as "Meme" and "Carol", her passion, heart and soul was to her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dog, Sweet Pea. To say she was an inspiration would be an understatement. Her smile lit up a room, and warmed every heart in it. She made every one of her family members feel like they were "her favorite." We thank God for the miracle that in her last days she was able to sing her great grandson "Happy Birthday" on his first birthday. We will miss you, Meme. She was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and enjoyed traveling, camping with her husband, and her annual girls' trip. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Skvasik, her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Rick Tyson, her son, Brian Jirel and his fiancé Amelia Percifull, her daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Craig Radvansky; a daughter, Carol Kilcawley and daughter, Heidi Budd and her husband, James Budd;her grandchildren, Matthew, Patricia Ann, Nathan; Emily, Hope; Brittany and her husband, BJ, Austin, Landon, Marco, Kyle and Charlotte; and her great grandson, Wyatt; her sisters, JoAnn Krenkel, Patricia Motley, and Donna Hardy. She is predeceased by her mother, Martha C. Lake, her father, Haskell Rogers, and stepfather, Richmond D. Lake; and her sister, Martha "Kay" Polson.
