Obituary of Lawrie H. Harmon

EASTOVER: Graveside service for Lawrie H. Harmon, 77, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with Full Military Rites. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home. Mr. Harmon passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013. Born in Eastover, SC, he was a son of the late Jasper Earl Harmon and Lucille Harbort Harmon. He was a proud aircrew member of which he was a flight examiner aboard the C-130 air craft which flew numerous missions during the Vietnam War. He was also awarded the Air Crew Member Badge with Multiple Devices, Good Conduct Medal with Multiple Devices and Air Force Longevity Service Award with Multiple Devices. Mr. Harmon was retired from the S.C. Government where he worked as a veterans claim representative. Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Delsie Harmon; daughter, Brenda Otto and husband Craig; sons, Joe Harmon and wife Karen, Jerry Harmon and wife Vonda and son, Troy Harmon; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
