Obituary of Doris Faile

COLUMBIA: Doris Harper Faile, 92, of Columbia, entered into rest Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Palmetto Health Baptist. Born Sunday, August 1, 1920, in Lancaster, SC, she was the daughter of the late John and Docia Harper. She was a member of First Baptist Church Columbia, Primetimers as well as the Brandon Hills Women's Club. Mrs. Faile was also a volunteer at the South Carolina State Museum. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, B.A. Faile, with whom she shared a devoted and blessed union of more than 54 years; one sister, Alice; and four brothers, Arthur, Porter, Frank and Jack. Mrs. Faile is survived by her daughter, Elaine Davis, of Eastover; three grandchildren, Jerry "Scooter" Davis, Cynthia "Cindy" Sharp and Delaine Suggs, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, February 8, 2013, in First Baptist Church Boyce Chapel, 1306 Hampton Street, Columbia SC 29220, with Reverend Dennis Banks officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209.
