Obituary of Marcus Hall

GREENVILLE: Funeral services for Marcus James Hall, 24, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Lexington Presbyterian Church, officiated by Reverend Clay Werner and Reverend Cameron Kirker. Interment will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Marcus James Hall, who was first loved by Jesus Christ, whose love is the best of every other love, and by his family, church and friends, departed this world on February 7, 2013, to be in the presence of Christ, who sits at the Right Hand of the Father, is filled with the Holy Spirit, according to God's Holy, unwavering and eternal promise to those who believe. Marcus was baptized as a covenant child and offered to God. He was raised by his parents in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. He was dearly loved by his mother, father, brothers, sister, extended family and a host of friends. He is now surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses to these eternal truths, and where with these witnesses he has joy eternal. Marcus graduated from Lexington High School in 2007, attended Midlands and Greenville Technical College and Clemson University. He grew up in Lexington Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the youth group. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved Gamecock football, baseball, and golf. He loved working with his hands, like his grandfather. He loved to give to others and did so with great joy. He loved faithfully and was loved by all. Survivors include his parents, Frederick "Rick" and Diane S. Hall; grandparents, Fred and Polly Hall of Columbia, Doris Stultz of Johnson City, TN; sister, Charlotte Clare Hall of Greenwood, SC; brothers, Stephen Hall (Erica) and Preston Joseph Hall all of Lexington; beloved niece, Madison Hall; also many loving uncles, aunts and extended family and friends. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by grandfather, James D. Stultz. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lexington Presbyterian Church, Youth Ministry, 246 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
