Obituary of Harold Hartsell

CAYCE—A graveside service for Harold E. Hartsell, 81, of Cayce, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101. Mr. Hartsell, beloved husband of Estelle A. Hartsell, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013. Born in Mechlenburg County, NC, he was the son of the late, Lucien Hartsell and Essie Eugenia Pope. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines serving in the Korean War. He retired from Duke Power Company where he worked as a draftsman in the design department. He was a member of Arlington Baptist Church in Cabarrus County, NC. Surviving in addition to his wife, Estelle A. Hartsell of Cayce; daughter Gale Meetze (Robert) of West Columbia; grandchildren, DeeAnn Jones (Brad) of West Columbia and Bregetta Green (Ty) of Rock Hill; great grandchildren, Victoria Cowell (Greg) of West Columbia, Stefen Singletary of West Columbia; Taylor Swiney of West Columbia and TerrieAnn Jones of West Columbia; along with numerous cousins in North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Hartsell.
