Obituary of Mary Myers Christopher

COLUMBIA—Mary Elizabeth Myers Christopher, 93, of Columbia, SC, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013. A graveside service will be held at Zion Episcopal Church Cemetery, Eastover, SC, on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 a.m., officiating will be Pastor Bill Drees. The family will receive friends following the service at graveside. Born June 15, 1919, in Eastover, she was the daughter of Edward Herman Myers and Hester Maria Rivers Myers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Columbia. She is survived by four children, Virginia Talbert (Charlie) of Columbia, James Christopher, Jr. (Brenda) of Lexington, Claudia Bond (Ronnie) of Columbia, Jane McNeely (Gene) of Irmo; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James "Red" Christopher, Sr., a daughter, Carol Sue Florence "Susie" of Columbia, a brother Edward Herman Myers, Jr. of Eastover, a sister Annie Wilson Heyner of Columbia and a great-grandson, James Acors Reavis "Jamie" of Virginia. A very special loving thank you to the caretakers at the Taylor Building, Lowman Home, for all the care and love you gave our mother over the past eight years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of West Columbia, PO Box 4898, West Columbia, SC 29169 or to a charity of one's choice.
