Obituary of JoAnn R. Krenkel

HOPKINS: A memorial service celebrating the life of JoAnn R. Krenkel, 77, of Hopkins will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Cameron DeBrew officiating. Private inurnment will follow at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12p.m. until the hour of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Ms. Krenkel departed this earthly life on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. She was born in Columbus, Georgia and the daughter of the late Haskell Fincher Rogers and Martha C. Layton Lake, and the step-daughter of the late Richmond D. Lake. JoAnn was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and she retired from the banking industry after 20 plus years of dedicated services in Columbia. She was predeceased by her husbands, Robert Ervin Mahaffey and William Krenkel; her sons, Eddie and Bobby Mahaffey; her sisters, Emily Carol Skvasik and Martha "Kay" Polson. Those left to cherish her beautiful memories are her daughter, Kathy Jo Mahaffey; two sisters, Donna Hardy and Patricia Motley; 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
