Obituary of Gertrude June Johnson

COLUMBIA: Gertrude Jane Johnson, 76, of Columbia entered into rest, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at her residence. Born November 10, 1936, in Linne, MO, she was a daughter of the late Charles Lee and Anna Christine (Pinet) Oberkrom. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Hopkins. Mrs. Johnson was a manager at Belk for 10 years and was also a manager at Wal-Mart for more than 11 years. She is survived by her husband, Richard LeRoy Johnson, with whom she shared a devoted and blessed union of more than 56 years; three sons, Vernon L., of Columbia, Randy L., of Spring Valley, CA, and Kelvin P., of Marble Mount, GA; two daughters, Rebecca Hamilton, of Coppas Cove, TX and Kimberley E. Wilkins, of Parma, OH; three sisters, Erma Hunter, of Independence, MO, Leona Singleton, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Edna Armstrong, of Gladstone, MO; two brothers, Kenneth Oberkrom, of Hill City, KS and Harold Gene Oberkrom, Rogerville, MO; as well as eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. In accordance with Mrs. Johnson's wishes the services and interment will be private and held at a later date.
