Obituary of Jose Pantonial

Columbia: Jose Pantonial, 63, of Columbia, entered into rest, March 8, 2013, at his residence. Born March 13, 1949, in Manila, Philippines, he was a son of the late Fernando, Sr., and Elisea (Mallari) Pantonial. A retired veteran of the US Army, he entered the military in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1990. During his tenure with the military, Mr. Pantonial served two tours in Vietnam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jose Pantonial, Jr.; sister, Beminda Pantonial; as well as a brother, Fernando Pantonial, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dollie Kate (Surber) Pantonial; two daughters, Tammy Marlene Pantonial, and Teresa Pantonial Polson (Chris); son, Anthony Pantonial; three sisters, Teresita Medlin (Bill), Yolanda Pantonial (Jason) and Alicia Lynn Corbitt (Dewayne); brother, Ricardo Pantonial (Terri); three grandchildren, Jordan and Krista Jade Polson, and Alexis Caterra Pantonial; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at 10:00 A.M., at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Interment will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the funeral home.
