Obituary of Joe Miller

WEST COLUMBIA—Joe E. Miller was born in Mitchell County, Georgia on November 9, 1925. Joe was accompanied by his loving parents James Weston Miller and Annie Janie Fussell Miller. He was married to his lovely wife of 62 years, Dorothy Ann Miller. During these many years they were blessed with two boys, Joe Ellis Miller II and Jack Lee Miller. Later they had the joy of one grandson, Jack Ellis Miller. Jack and his wife, Kelli blessed him with a great-granddaughter, Arianna Grace Miller. Joe also has one living sister, Alice Miller Spivey. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Miller retired from Fort Jackson after 20 years of service. Then he returned to work in Civil Service the remainder until retiring. After all his hard work and serving his country, he then went into gardening. He enjoyed fishing, cars, he loved spending time outside in the yard and most of all spending time with his family. The visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, officiating will be Rev. Terry Roberts. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors.
