Obituary of Audrey Headden Taylor

Audrey Headden Taylor COLUMBIA: Audrey Headden Taylor of Columbia went to be with Jesus on Monday, March 11, 2013, following a short illness at Lexington Medical Center. Born August 7, 1936, in Bamberg, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Lever B. Headden and Sabra Z. Headden. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Don E. Taylor of Columbia, sons Mike (Kim) Taylor of Columbia and Mark (Jess) Taylor of Elgin; grandchildren Jessica, Casey, Callie, Maggie, Benjamin and Grigsby; and a sister, Ruth Hurt of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sonny Headden, Elizabeth Scott and Lois Maples. Audrey was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-love, grandmother, sister and friend whose love for the Lord Jesus permeated each of her relationships. Throughout her lifetime, she served as a volunteer at Richland Memorial Hospital and as a Sunday School teacher for teenagers in her church for 40 years. She is described as a gifted teacher with an amazing ability to relate to young people and was known to all for her faith in Jesus Christ, her witty humor and her big hugs. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14th from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, Columbia. A Celebration of Life will follow with a graveside service immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Brant Taylor, Scott Taylor, Eddie Argoe, Ronnie Cosper Sr., Ronnie Cosper Jr. and Dale Cosper, The family would like to express its' gratitude and appreciation for the care, love and support to her physicians and the staff of Lexington Medical Center.
