Obituary of Reverend A. Moore
LEXINGTON: Funeral service for Reverend Roger A. Moore, Sr., 55, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Randy Moore and Reverend Glenn Frye. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
Reverend Moore went to his eternal home in Glory Tuesday, March 12, 2013. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of Mildred "Billie" Moore and the late Reverend Lester Pearson Moore. He was an associate pastor at Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church for 13 years, and had a deep and abiding love for his congregation as well as an unwavering faith in his Lord. Reverend Moore was a Deacon, musician and Sunday School teacher at Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church. He enjoyed cars, guitars, guns and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He was a loving husband and dedicated father to his family.
Survivors include: his beloved wife, Dona Hendrix Moore of Lexington; sons, Roger Alan Moore, Jr., of Turbeville, Joshua Tyler Hendrix (Justine Brannock) of Irmo; daughter, Jordan Gray Hendrix of Lexington; sisters, Rhonda Moore Huggins of Hopkins and Ranee Moore of Columbia; brother, Reverend Randy B. Moore (Mandy) of Hopkins; nieces and nephews, Matthew, Jeffrie, Morgan, Jordanne and Julya; and his beloved 4-legged child, Jackson.
