Obituary of Evelyn Shealey

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Evelyn H. Shealey, 92, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Grace Chapel Church, officiated by Pastor Rusty Rabon and Pastor Steve Fowler. Interment will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Chapel Church Missionary Fund, 663 Dixiana Rd., West Columbia, SC 29172. Mrs. Shealey, widow of the late Ernest D. Shealey, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Born in Saluda County, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Evart Hare and Eloise Hite Hare. She was a longtime member of Grace Chapel Church for over 60 years and was also active with her Sunday School Class and many other ministries. Survivors include: daughter, Vicki Smith (Clyde) of Hartsville, SC; sons, David Shealey (Janet) of Dandridge, TN and Mark Shealey (Linda) of Columbia; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; also a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Shealey was preceded in death by her husband, E.D. Shealey; sisters, Doris Turner, Winifred Walling and Lois Summer; and brothers, Armand Hare and Leon Hare.
