Obituary of Sammy Marcum

Funeral Services for Sammy Ann Marcum, 70, of West Columbia, will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 2pm at Oakwood Baptist Church, 3520 Mineral Springs Road, Lexington, South Carolina 29073. Officiating will be the Reverend Dr. Richard Wilson. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6-8pm at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel 4720 Augusta Road Lexington SC 29072. Born March 25, 1942 in Abbeville, SC she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. Boozer and Virginia Long Boozer. She was raised in Newberry County and attended Oakwood Baptist Church. She married the love of her life the late Charles E. Marcum, Sr. For 25 years they made the Lake Murray area their home until his death then she returned to the West Columbia area. Surviving are her daughter, Holley M. Sturges and her husband, Earron of Lexington, SC; son, Chuck Marcum and his wife Lisa of West Columbia, SC; brothers, Steve L. Boozer and his wife Joan; Terry M. Boozer; grandchildren, Krista Dangerfield and her husband, Corey and Courtney Marcum; as well as a number of nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Suber.
