Obituary of Jewel Pilot Cooper

LEXINGTON: Funeral service for Jewel Ann Pilot Cooper, 69, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Holland Avenue Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Charles Wilson. Interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holland Avenue Baptist Church, Guatemalan Missions, 801 12th St., Cayce, SC 29033. Mrs. Cooper, known as "Nana" to her grandsons, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Hilton John Douglas and Annie Lois Waters Douglas. She was a member of Congaree Baptist Church. Jewel retired from Westinghouse Nuclear Fuels after 30 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed reading, the beach and the mountains. She enjoyed her grandsons, and her Yorkie, Romeo. Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Pilot of 26 years and her second husband, Charlie Cooper of 17 years. Survivors include her daughters, Diane Feaster (Robby) of West Columbia an Sharon Pilot of Lexington; sisters, Brenda Palmer (Jimmy) of Gilbert and Theresa Harsey (Vance) of West Columbia; grandsons, Darrell Feaster, Seth Feaster, Zachary Feaster and Steven Michael Little; also several loving nieces and nephews.
