Obituary of Ruby Wilson

WEST COLUMBIA-Funeral services for Ruby Ardis Wilson, 83, of West Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at City of Hope Worship Center. Officiating will be Reverend Neal Nolan and Reverend Joe Grice. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and granddaughters. Memorials may be made to City of Hope Worship Center, 1403 D Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mrs. Wilson died Saturday, March 23, 2013. Born in Manning, SC, she was the daughter of the late Marion Watson and Sarah Dubose Ardis. She ran her own child Daycare from her home and the church. She was a member of City of Hope Worship Center, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She also was retired from Sam's Club. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, David Leland Wilson; daughter, Debra McMillan of Columbia; sons, Ronnie Wilson (Jean) of Lexington, Danny Wilson (Muriel) of Marion, and Jerry Wilson (Paula) of Gaston; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother, Franklin Ardis (Betty) of Dansville, LA; sisters, Tora Richbourg (Ray) of Manning and Linda Faye Ward of Columbia. She was predeceased by a son, James "Jimmy"Dean Wilson; nine brothers and sisters, Pearl Rhodus, William Ardis, J.D. Ardis, Eliza Haley, Henry Ardis, Cecil Anderson, Elizabeth Maynard, Marion N. Ardis and Johnnie Ardis.
