Obituary of Cecil Cagle

HOPKINS: Funeral service for Cecil H. Cagle, 73, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholt. Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, SC. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Cagle passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Born in Cheraw, SC, he was a son of the late John Cagle and Mary Jane Biles Cagle. He loved bass fishing in his sneak boat and enjoyed salt water fishing. He was an inventor who invented the Electric Jigger Pole. Mr. Cagle enjoyed vegetable gardening, dirt track racing, traveling and NASCAR. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Cagle was also known for his wit and sense of humor. Survivors include his loving wife of 11 years, Margie Lowe Cagle of Hopkins; sister, Mary Evelyn Cagle Lambert (Charles "Chuck") of Columbia; brothers, John Wesley Cagle (Linda) of Columbia and Melvin Ray Cagle (Bertie) of Hopkins; also many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Cagle was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Cecil Darren "Pee Wee" Cagle.
