Obituary of Quentin Cooper

SOUTH CONGAREE—Quentin Cooper, 94, passed away to his eternal home March 29, 2013. As a firm believer in Jesus Christ, he looked forward to the day when he would meet Jesus and again be with his beloved wife, Nell. Services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, April 1, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church, Cayce, SC conducted by Dr. Eddie Coakley. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 45 minutes before the service at the church. Pallbearers are Duke, Roger, Chris & Taylor Singleton, Randy Underwood, and Todd Sherer. Mr. Cooper, born in McCreary County, Kentucky, was the son of Frank and Kizzie Cooper. A member of Trinity Baptist Church, he was formerly a deacon and teacher of young boys at First Baptist Church, St. Petersburg, Florida. Mr. Cooper was a WWII Army veteran & afterward had a long insurance sales career. Surviving are daughters Judy (Duke) Singleton and Linda (John) Longacre; grandchildren Julie (Randy) Underwood, Roger (Mary Beth) Singleton, and Chris (Ashley) Singleton; great-grandchildren Darcy, Todd, & Carrie Sherer and Dallas, Taylor & Anna Grace Singleton; great-great-grandchild Madelyn Giles; sisters Juanita Richie, Gladys Hicks, & Joyce Strunk and many nieces & nephews. Special thanks to caregivers Kenya Howell, Gloria Wannamaker, & Thelma Rhoden for their love and assistance during his last two years. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 2003 Charleston Hwy., Cayce, SC 29033 and Alzheimer's Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd., Ste. 100, West Columbia, SC 29169.
