Obituary of Brenda Johnson

PELION: Funeral service for Brenda Joyce Johnson, 59, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Edmund First Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Johnny Slice and Reverend David Lee. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mrs. Johnson went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. Born in Shreveport, LA, she was a daughter of Bryant Leo Lucas and the late Jacqueline Ann Wright Lucas. She was a devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a woman of strong faith who shared the love of Jesus with everyone she met. Mrs. Johnson was a giving generous person who enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Eddy Johnson of Pelion; daughters, Suzette Shirey (Mark) of Pelion, Marsha Corley (Claude) of Gaston, and Diana Reeve (Joshua) of Charlotte; grandchildren, Andrea and Carmen Shirey and Kayla, Kasey and Kyle Corley; sisters, Linda McKay (Alan) of West Columbia and Cindy Miller (Kevin) of Irmo; brothers, Steve Lucas (Vicky) of Gaston and Donnie Lucas of Pelion; she was also survived by her father, Bryant Leo Lucas.
