Obituary of Vera Monroe

COLUMBIA: Entombment for Vera M. Monroe, 65, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Greenlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mrs. Monroe passed away Friday, April 5, 2013. Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Henry D. Monteith and Philipine Gray. She received her B.A. degree from Spellman College and Master's Degree from U.S.C. Mrs. Monroe was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Jimmie Monroe of Columbia; sons, David Monroe of Fairmont, NC, Jimmie Monroe, Jr., and Christian Monroe both of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Colleen Nelson (Bobby) of Pearl River, LA and Janet Crockett of Washington, DC; also a number of nieces and nephews.
