Obituary of Gloria Davis

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Gloria Boozer Davis, 76, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 2003 Charleston Hwy., Cayce, SC 29033. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mrs. Davis, widow of David S. Davis, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Born in Newberry County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Otis B. Boozer and Mary Dennis Boozer. She was a founding member of the Trinity Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir, directed the children's choir and taught Sunday School during her years of active service. Survivors include her sons, Gregory Phillip Davis (Barbara) of Gilbert, Gordon Wayne Davis of Laurinburg, NC and Douglas Patrick Davis (Donna B.) of West Columbia; brother, David Boozer (Brenda) of Columbia; grandchildren, Tasha Strickland (Chris), Brad Davis, Bryan Davis (Jessi), Lauren Davis, Chase Davis, and Alexandra Davis; also five great grandchildren. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and son, Christopher D. Davis.
