Obituary of Rucker Watts

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Mrs. Hilmer Rucker Watts, 93, of West Columbia, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Sandy Run. Officiating will be Rev. Bruce Rucker and Rev. Debra Gibson. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Watts, beloved wife of the late Ernest T. Watts, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Born in Swansea, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Rucker and William Mae Saylor Rucker. She was a lifetime area resident and a devoted member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She loved cats and flowers. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother and a friend to all. Surviving are her daughter, Anita Watts Keith of West Columbia; son, William D. Watts, Sr. and wife, Ruth of Callahan, FL; grandchildren, Brett Keith, Scott Keith and William D. Watts, Jr.; great-grandchildren, William D. Watts III and Ashley Watts; great-great-granddaughter, Lyla; and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Lybrand and a brother, H. D. Rucker.
