Obituary of Rodney Boles

PELION: A memorial service for Rodney Boles, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Pelion, officiated by Reverend Kathryn Scarborough. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 26, Pelion, SC 29123. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mr. Boles passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Born in Woodford, SC, he was a son of the late Julian Boles and Ethel Gissendanner Boles. He was a lifetime member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He loved life, animals, fishing and people, he was a devoted Carolina fan. Survivors include: his loving wife of 40 years, Dessie Mae Tager Boles of Pelion; daughters, Betty Armstrong (Eddie) of Gilbert and Sandra Johnson (Bruce) of Pelion; son, Jessie Deas of Pelion; grandchildren, Breck Armstrong, Sheri Paxton (Richard), Rodney Johnson (Kate), Alex Johnson and Olivia Johnson great grandchildren, Reid Paxton, Ashlei Armstrong and Brooke Armstrong. Mr. Boles was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers and sisters.
