Obituary of Hughey Raymond Aughtry

Funeral services for Hughey Raymond "Ray" Aughtry, 77, of Cayce will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Pete Cassidy. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital, 950 W. Mr. Aughtry, beloved husband of the late Lewillar Mendenhall Aughtry, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Huie Guy Aughtry and Vianna Timmons Aughtry. He was a lifetime area resident and a Veteran of the United States Marines. He was affiliated with State Street Baptist Church. He was a member of Sinclair Masonic Lodge #154, the Jamil Temple (Director Staff) and the VFW Post #8738 in Lexington. Surviving are his daughter Judy Aughtry of Cayce; sons, Kenneth Aughtry and Gerald Aughtry (Cindy) all of Cayce; sister-in-law, Marie Tyler of West Columbia; God grandchildren, Kenny Ray Reep and Christiana Reep and a grand-dog, Pebble.
