Obituary of Thomas Gladstone Bryant

GASTON - Funeral service for Thomas Gladstone Bryant, 87, of Gaston, S.C., will be held Sunday, May 12, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, S.C. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens West Columbia, S.C. The Rev. Erskine Shivers will officiate. Mr. Bryant went to be with the Lord Friday, May 10, 2013. Born in Royston, G.A., he was the son of the late Obie Idell Busby and William Goss Bryant. Mr. Bryant was predeceased by a sister and brother. He enjoyed repairing lawnmowers and caring for his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Guyula Bryant; sons Tommy Bryant (Penny), William Bryant (Mary), adopted son Lorne Southern (Terry); daughters, Beverly Ray (Wayne), Renee Barrett (Wrenn), Rhonda Bryant and special niece Janice Jones. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren that he loved very much. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eddie Bryant, Brent Jeffcoat, Jared Jeffcoat, Zachary Pollock, Arthur Southern and Preston Southern.
