Obituary of Elizabeth Brune Phillips

COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Elizabeth "Beth" Brune Phillips, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May, 15, 2013, at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, officiated by Mother Jill Zook-Jones. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home. Mrs. Phillips passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013. Born in Honolulu, HI, she was the daughter of Warren H. Brune and Ann Dilworth Brune. She was a member of St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church. She received her B.S. and Master's Degrees from U.S.C. and taught for 34 years in the Richland District #2 schools. Mrs. Phillips was an aerobics instructor for 22 years, the last 5 years at Strong Hold Fitness. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister who touched many people's lives. Despite her battle with cancer, she continued to teach and inspire her students and all who knew her. Survivors include her father, Warren H. Brune and step-mother, Faith G. Stephenson; her loving husband of 29 years, Gary Phillips; son, Mark Donald Phillips of Raleigh, NC; sister, Susan Collins (David) of Conyers, GA; brother, David Brune (Nancy) of Snelville, GA; several loving nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Dusty.
