Obituary of Vera Matthews

WEST COLUMBIA—A graveside service for Vera Matthews, 66, of West Columbia, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Celestial Memorial Gardens Chapel. Officiating will be Wayman Caldwell. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Mrs. Matthews passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013. Born in Orangeburg, she was the daughter of Jack R. and Marnie Nasworth. She loved her poodles, flowers and working in her garden. Surviving are her sons, Jeffrey L. Matthews (Candy) and Mark Sherman Matthews (Leann); grandchildren, Alexandria and Olivia Matthews; four nieces and a brother, David Nasworth.
