Obituary of Myrtle Allen Addy

LEXINGTON—A memorial service for Myrtle Allen Addy, 71, of Lexington, will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Shay Long. The family will greet friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Addy, beloved wife of 48 years to the late Brady A. Addy, Jr. passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013. Born in Rockbridge Baths, VA, she was a daughter of the late William Allen and Cecil Bartley Allen. She retired after 25+ years of service from Carolina Steel and Wire. She enjoyed RV traveling, camping and doing the daily word jumble. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved country and bluegrass music and was a lifelong cat lover. Surviving are her daughter, Deborah A. Crim of Lexington; son, Michael A. Addy (Kara) of Elgin; grandchildren, Kasey, Maddox and Emeline; sisters, Mae Meeks of Stuarts Draft, VA and Ruth Ashby (James) of Staunton, VA along with several nieces, nephews and a large and loving extended family. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Vandy Crim. Many thanks to the staff at Agape Senior Lexington for their loving care and support.
