Obituary of Margie S. Bowers

LEXINGTON—Margie S. Bowers, 91, of Lexington, beloved wife of 54 years to the late George B. Bowers, Jr., passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013. Born in Leesville, she was the daughter of the late Ralph B. Shealy and Mayme Lee Riser Shealy. Margie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed sewing, gardening and was a dedicated homemaker. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Pauline Bowers of West Columbia; sister, Dorothy Bedenbaugh (Allen) of Leesville; grandchildren, Jeanne Ricard (Jamey) of West Columbia and Jim Bowers of Orangeburg; great-grandson, Jacob Ricard and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, James Bowers and two brothers, Howard Shealy and Dwight Shealy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1717 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, SC 29169. A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Christi Pursey, was held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Staff of Lexington Extended Care for their devoted care of Mrs. Bowers.
