Obituary of Ruby Lee Heddy

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby L. Heddy, 91, of West Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Bill Robinson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 12:30-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Heddy passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013. Born in Jefferson, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Henry Evans and Mae Robinson Evans. She was a lifelong member of Earlewood Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir and was a former Head of the Sunday School Department. Mrs. Heddy retired after many years of loyal service with General Electric Company. Surviving are her sons, William A. "Buddy" Heddy of West Columbia and Andrew P. Heddy, Jr. (wife, Janet) of Elgin; grandchildren, Rusty and Randy Heddy, Todd Heddy and Amanda H. Strong (husband, Cody); also 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Mims of Augusta, GA. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Bolt; brothers, P.H., Frank, Willie, Bennie Mac, Carl Evans, and a grandson, Reggie Heddy.
