Obituary of Patsy Mathias Dailey

WEST COLUMBIA-Funeral service for Patsy Mathias Dailey, 70, of West Columbia, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2013 at Northside Baptist Church, with Reverend Rocky Purvis and Reverend Steve Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Wayne Smith, Billy Ray Kelly, Randy McGee, Junior Owens and Charlie Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of her Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 5235 Sunset Blvd, Lexington, SC. 29072. Mrs. Dailey died Friday, May 31, 2013. Born in Lexington, SC, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Martha Dooley Mathias. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church where she previously served as the secretary of her Sunday school class. She retired after 40 years of service from Turner Padget Graham and Laney Law Firm. She was a graduate of Columbia Commercial College and was a past member of the Columbia Secretary League. She loved her indoor and outdoor plants, trips, various birds and, most importantly, her three grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Kenneth O. Dailey; sons, K. Todd Dailey of West Columbia and Greg Dailey (Melinda) of Lexington; sisters, Linda Leaphart of Lexington, Jenelle Martin (R.G.) of Pelion, Kay Bennett (Melton) of Lexington and Donna "Deb" Walters of Lexington; three grandchildren, Kelsey August, Jackson Slade and Janie Isabella. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Mathias and Bobby Mathias; and two sisters, Doris Owen and Mary Ellen Sharpe.
