Obituary of Eldridge Cornelius Ray

A graveside service celebrating the life of Eldridge Cornelius Ray, 78, of Eastover will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church Building Fund, 10220 Garners Ferry Road, Eastover, SC 29044 in Eldridge's memory. On-line condolences may be sent to www.Greenlawn-Columbia.com. Mr. Ray departed this earthly life on Monday evening, June 3, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Columbus County, NC to the late William McKinley Ray and Beulah Farmuduval Ray. Mr. Ray was a member at Iron Hill Baptist Church in Tabor City, NC. Eldridge was an avid fisherman who is now covering from the power lines to the hot hole 24 hours a day. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Violet Fowler Ray; his daughter, Valorie Cotton (Robert); two sons, Clark Ray (Conchita & family) and Rych Ray; his sister, Annette R. Cartrette (Larry); two brothers, Wilbert Ray (Patricia) and Joseph Ray (Ladosca); his special pet companion, "Jack"; a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
