Obituary of Joseph Franklin Carter

LEXINGTON—Joseph F. Carter, 80, of Lexington, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013. Born in Clinton, NC he was the son of the late Romie Carter and Myrtle Lee Sessoms Carter. He was member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He retired after 40+ years of service from Cooper Power Tools. He was an avid Bowler and a member of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and was in the South Carolina Bowling Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed playing golf. He was a beloved father, husband and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Marlene Joyce Demler Carter of Lexington; daughters, Deborah Maciejewski, Marianne Pfeiffer, Colleen Repke (Joe), Kathleen Berg (Mike) and Julianne Arseneau; sons, Robert Carter (Vickie), Daniel Carter (Cheryl) and Duane Carter (Myndi); 13 grandchildren; sister, Virginia Tevepaugh; brother, Clifton Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Christine Sutton and Mary Mason, a brother, Amos Carter and son, David Carter. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
