Obituary of MSGT Rudolph Vining

SOUTH CONGAREE-Funeral services for Master Sgt. (Ret.) Rudolph Vining, 82, of South Congaree, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Congaree Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor David Mullins and Reverend Ron Pelfrey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be The Costners Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be made to Congaree Baptist Church, 101 Pine Ridge Drive, West Columbia, SC 29172. Mr. Vining died Friday, June 28, 2013. Born in Greeleyville, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Manton and Pauline Maybell Browder Vining. He was a Christian who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ faithfully. He was a member and Deacon of Congaree Baptist Church. Mr. Vining retired from the United States Air Force with 23 years of service. After his retirement he worked over 20 years for Piggly Wiggly. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He will be missed by his hunting partner Irbie Snipes. Surviving are his wife, Betty G. Vining; daughter, Patricia Lucas and her husband Milo "Mark"; sons, Thomas Vining and friend (Don Craig); Michael Vining and friend (Terry) two grandchildren, Jennifer O'Briant, husband Ian, Dustin Lucas, friend (Carly); three great-grandchildren, Raelyn, Liam and Oona O'Briant; and sister, Eula Mae Shealy and sister-in-law, Alice Outlaw. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Vining and his wife, Louise and Ernest Vining; sisters and their spouses, Eleanor Spires (LeRoy) and Betty Jo Douglas (Eugene); and brother-in-law, Harold Shealy.
